Location

Our group of "yellow houses" (Justad Vandrerhjem and Rorbuer) is located in a small, natural, south-facing harbour. Here you can feel close to nature, meet other guests from many different places, and almost forget the rest of the world.
At the same time it is only three minutes on foot to the nearest bus stop and grocery store.

The town of Stamsund is on the island of Vestvågøy, which is one of the five "principal" Lofoten Islands.

The village is a vibrant community with the fish factory an important employer and port to Northern Norway's largest trawler fleet.

The pulse of the place is determined by the Hurtigruten coastal steamer, which for almost a hundred years has called at the port of Stamsund every evening northbound and southbound. Since 2022, the route has been shared between Hurtigruten and Havila.

As a tourist in Stamsund, you do not have to queue for much-talked about attractions. You will find picturesque postcard idylls, great nature, and an interesting cultural life, with art galleries and Stamsund Theatre Festival (annually in late May).

Stamsund is a good base from which to explore the rest of Lofoten.
